MUKESH SHARMA, MD, MS, FASN, FACP, FASDIN
Biography
Mukesh Sharma, MD, MS, FASN, FACP, FASDIN, is an interventional nephrologist specializing in a diverse range of procedures related to maintaining vascular access for hemodialysis. These procedures include placement and removal of temporary and tunneled hemodialysis catheters, angiograms (aka fistulogram), angioplasty, stent placement, fistula/graft salvage, and thrombolysis (aka declotting), arteriogram, coil placement, vein ligation, banding, vein mapping etc.
Dr. Sharma went to Medical school in India and then came to the U.S. in 2002. He was a featured graduate student at Louisiana Tech University where he finished his Master’s Degree in Biology, majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology. He then completed a five-year training program in Internal Medicine Residency and Nephrology fellowship from Louisiana State University. After graduation, Dr. Sharma practiced in Arkansas for seven years. He was appointed an adjunct faculty in Nephrology at the only state medical university (Univ. of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, AR).
Dr. Sharma has been bestowed with several honors including Fellowships by the American Society of Nephrology (FASN), American College of Physicians (FACP), and American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (FASDIN). Dr. Sharma has been invited to and has presented his work at several national and international scientific conferences.
