DAVID HOWARD, MD

Biography
Dr. David Howard is principal endocrinologist at Sierra Nevada Specialty Care (SNSC), providing a broad range of care for patients with endocrine issues. Dr Howard received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and PhD in environmental toxicology at the University of Nevada Reno, before obtaining his medical doctorate (also at the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine) in 2004. He completed his internal medicine residency at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara followed by a research fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Colorado Denver.
Dr. Howard returned to Reno in 2011 to join the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine faculty, where he served as the Director of the Year 1-2 curriculum from 2014-2021 and as Chief of the Endocrine department from 2018-2021. He left UNR-Med in 2021 with Emeritus status to join SNSC.
