Medical Billing Account Representative

At Sierra Nevada Specialty Care, we know that great patient care starts behind the scenes — with a team that keeps our billing process running smoothly and ensures our patients receive clear, accurate statements. We’re looking for a detail-oriented Account Representative who takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

As an Account Representative, you’ll be the link between our patients, providers, and insurance companies — making sure billing is correct, payments are posted promptly, and any questions are resolved with professionalism and care.

Customer Service

  • Prepare, review, and send patient statements.

  • Identify and resolve patient billing inquiries or complaints.

  • Work with patients to set up payment plans and report on delinquent accounts.

Billing & Payment Processing

  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to post payments and adjustments accurately from checks, cash, credit cards, bulk remittances, and electronic media.

  • Enter charges to create and submit clean claims to primary and secondary insurance.

  • Post and reconcile payments, process refunds, and apply necessary adjustments.

  • Follow up on outstanding accounts, discrepancies, and ensure accurate account logs and data entry.

  • Investigate and resolve billing issues to maintain accuracy and compliance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: 2+ years in medical billing or a similar role preferred; medical office or formal billing education highly valued.

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, and the billing process.

  • Skills: Organized, detail-oriented, excellent multitasker, and strong communicator (both written and verbal).

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily an administrative role in an office setting with occasional walking, bending, and light physical activity.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Be part of a supportive team that values accuracy, efficiency, and patient care.

  • Monday–Friday schedule — no weekends or major holidays.

  • The opportunity to make a difference by helping patients navigate the financial side of their healthcare.
